Féile in Ferns
Faoie 15’s Feile na nGael Division 1 All-Ireland Hurling Finals : We would like to congratulate our Under 15 Hurlers who did the club so proud in the Féile All Ireland Hurling Finals in Ferns, Wexford on Saturday. The team played three group games v Monageer–Boolavogue (Wexford) winning by 2-05 to 0-04, they lost out to Ballygunner (Waterford) in their second game by 0-09 to 0-03 and won their final group game v Rathgarogue/Cushinstown (Wexford) by 6-08 to 0-04 to qualify for the Cup Quarter finals. They played Clooney-Quin (Clare) in the Q/F where they won by 2-07 to 0-03. They played a highly fancied Midleton team in the semi-final where they put in their best performance of the day which finished level at 0-04 each at the end of normal time. In extra time Midleton got two early goals and despite heroic efforts of the team they could not make up the deficit losing out in the end by 2-07 to 0-06. While they might not have brought home silverware on the day, each & every member of the panel can be proud of their achievement of reaching an All-Ireland Féile Semi-Final and representing their families, club & county. We would like to sincerely thank the management team of Hugh Mc Loughlin, Conor O’Mahony, Brian Healy, John O’Mahony, Dave Roche & Dave Noone for all the time & effort they have put in with this group of players so far this year. We would like to thank Laura Guiney for organising the food & the ladies who helped with the catering. We would also like to thank our physio, Aileen Maguire. Finally, we would like to thank the large number of supporters who travelled to support the team on the day. It was really appreciated by the team.
The Under 15 Hurlers now turn their attention to local affairs when they play Nenagh Eire Óg in their opening game of the North / West Hurling League on this Thursday evening in Nenagh @ 7:30 PM.
