County Champions

Faoi 15’s: Both Under 15 hurling teams played in the Féile hurling competition over the weekend. The first Under 15 team played in Division 1 and won their group games v Moyle Rovers, Cashel King Cormacs & Durlas Óg. They then went on to win their semi-final v JK Brackens by 4-08 to 0-06. On Monday they won the club’s first ever ‘A’ county hurling competition, defeating Dúrlas Óg in the final in Dr Morris Park and taking possession of the newly-presented Tommy Barrett Cup. Huge credit is due to the players and management on this outstanding achievement. Congratulations to all. Newport will now represent Tipperary in the National Féile.
Our second Under 15 team played in Division 8 in Littleton and won their group games v Moycarkey-Borris & Boherlahan Dualla. They then went on to win their semi-final v Cashel King Cormacs by 4-10 to 1-07. However, despite a great performance, they lost out to Durlas Óg in their Féile county final. 
The Under 15s turn their attention back to football next Monday evening when they face Nenagh Éire Óg in the North ‘A’ final. Best of luck, lads.
